John brings a wealth of land knowledge including soils, plants, and wildlife conservation. He retired after 36 years with USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, working in numerous locations throughout Texas.
John received his BS degree from Texas A&M in Range Management. John and his wife Shelly, both graduated from Gainesville High School. Shelley has a BA degree in art from San Angelo State University. They have two daughters. Ashley is office manager for Capital Farm Credit in Alpine. Her husband, Cody, manages a large ranch south of Alpine. Meghan is an art teacher at Bridgeport Elementary. Her husband, Taylor, works for EnLink in Bridgeport.
John and Shelley have four granddaughters : Hallie, Sadie, Parker, and Campbell. They are all involved in many activities.
